WETTERN is the family surname of my daughter’s husband.
Her father-in-law has traced the family back to HINRICH WETTERN who married JOHANNA CACILIA MARIA SCHRODER in 1834 in Hamburg.
Their son JULIUS MARTIN HEINRICH (1845/1902) was born in Hamburg and as a Silk Agent emigrated to England where at Hackney in 1871 he married RAGNHILD MARGARETHE BLICHFELDT of Norway.
Subsequent generations who mostly lived in London and South Eastern England have been researched. The name appears to be rare in the United Kingdom.
