:: playing field - 001 ::
description:
1 of 2: this image was part of my research for a fine art project whilst in university.
the brief was simply to 'capture landscape'.
i decided that an appropriate angle would be to look landscape in suburban environment and illustrate how nature can almost overcome any previous existence of man-made influences.
the title 'playing field' is used to suggest the irony that although this is indeed supposed to be a playing field you can see the broken glass and rubble strewn across the foreground. the unused flats in the background also signify britain's post war housing development - itself is a scar on the landscape as the unused concrete blocks tower into the sky.

:: starling - 001 ::
description:
1 of 2: this was captured after a starling fell through the skylight of my bedroom, it frantically dashed around my room for several minutes before realising that i wasn't going to do it any harm.
i had managed to open the window and grabbed my camera to take a few snaps as it hopped onto the window's edge and posed before flying off into the afternoon sun.
i was lucky to have had this opportunity seeing as i'm not a wild-life photographer!

2 of 2: this is the second image that accompanied my research into the counter balance of nature and man-made influences in a suburban environment.

:: starling - 002 ::
description:
2 of 2: probably my favourite of the two starling images. i much prefer the tonal quality and stance of the bird - however i wish that it was less grainy.
still, i think it turned out well.
