description:
as i was walking down fifth avenue, near new york city library, i turned a corner and saw this shot.
i loved the angles of buildings that formed the composition which appears to be the shape of a scalpel blade.
this image, along with the others in my NY series was taken with a standard kodak advantix camera.
i was initially weary about taking my olympus to NY, but i am going again [hopefully] in November so i will definitely be taking my SLR and some black and white film to photograph at my hearts content.
next year [hopefully] it will be tokyo's turn!

:: snowscape ::
description:
i didn't expect this image to turn out the way it did.
the people i was with where hurrying me, the snow was falling heavy and i couldn't get the composition that i really wanted as the lens wasn't wide [tall] enough!
but as it stands i was pleasantly surprised after it was developed.

:: deco-noir ::
description:
i saw this near times square, i had to take this shot because it reminded me so much of a combination of art-deco styling with a twist of 'film noir' with that smoke.
every corner in new york seems to hold an amazing composition, day or night.
the structures, the weather and the lighting of either the streets or the sun have a magical effect on the big apple.
it's just a case of looking at it and pressing that button.

:: street blur ::
description:
i took this snap whilst been driven down the street in the traditional new york yellow cab.
the composition was accidentally achieved, but i thought worked very well. it was taken at about 11 in the morning so subtle warm tone of the morning sun and the cool blue shades blend quite well.
