Balbeggie is a small village of about 180 homes five miles north of Perth (Scotland) on the A94. It was established in the early 1800's just after the turn pike road (now the A94) was re-routed away from the much older village of St. Martins, but it did not grow to anything like its present size until after the end of world war two

In the village there is the school, a general licensed store, a post office come licensed store, a filling station and hotel , a United Free Church., St. Martins Public hall, two riding stables, a plant nursery, a number of other commercial businesses and the parish church of St. Martins which is about one and a quarter miles outside the village
