Mick Kaylor
The band’s guitarist and vocalist has been performing for around 40 years.
He bought his first guitar at the age of eleven and became a founder member of the Billingham Black Horse Folk Club in his late teens.
During his teacher training course he received formal vocal coaching and did a bit of the ‘serious stuff’.
On returning to the folk scene, his ceilidh band apprenticeship was served with the Stockton based Castlegate Band playing bass guitar which he did for the following 28 years with other successful line ups such as, Reformation, Hullichan and the well respected Blackstuff Ceilidh Band.
Over the years he has deputised for other bass players and guitarists in other prominent local bands and has supported and mentored musicians new to the ceilidh scene.
His time is now devoted to his music. |
