No Singing In The Bar
( to traditional irish tune, same as whiskey in the jar )
Kim Howells brought a motion, to license all performance
To include fifteen thousand churches and many other offence.
Members clubs and rest’raunts, bars, pubs and hotels
Are all to be affected as he sends them all to hell.
Chorus:
There’s silence wide and far
Cromwell’s laughing over hell
Cromwell’s laughing over hell
No singing in the bar
I was digging in my garden humming ‘Ace of Spades’
When came a black maria full of bobbies on their raids
I am fined twenty grand with six months long in prison
Granny could’t find her teeth, so they took her in for whistlin’
Chorus
Tots at the local playgroup sat down for nursery rhymes
But they didn’t have a license, now they’re paying for their crimes.

I have come across a "banjo" that says George Washburn #615 on it. It is a leatherhead, steel circle, looks like a short banjo and has 8 strings. Do you have any information or can you tell me where I can find information on this particular piece. Thanks. Barb

Hi folks,
I'm looking for an accordian or harmonica player to team up with to play a range of acoustic based music. I play guitar, bit of mandolin and whistle and sing. (although not at the same time!) Feel free to give me a shout if you fancy getting our heads together.

Wow! Banjos are amazing! I would like to learn to pick the banjo. I hate the guitar or any other instrument you have to strum. Picking is much better and that's why I like banjos and harps.

Thank you for an enjoyable site. I am also a banjo enthusiast and play mainly Irish style tenor banjo.
If you don't mind, I'd like to add a link to your site from the main banjos page on our site, which can be found at ...
http://www.eaglemusicshop.com/banjos/index.asp
Could you please in return add a link from your site pointing to our banjos page.
I hope you will find our site also both enjoyable and informative.
With kind regards
