WHO WE ARE With nearly 40 instrumentalists and 120 singers, Tonbridge Philharmonic Society is an established and well-respected part of musical life in Kent. We have been performing high-quality music in Tonbridge for over 60 years. Formed in 1946, our first concert was Handel's Messiah, before a capacity audience in Tonbridge Parish Church. The orchestra was formed in 1958 and we remain to this day one of the few societies comprising both chorus and orchestra. We present a regular programme of choral and orchestral concerts of a high standard, employing professional soloists. The Society has an extensive repertoire spanning a wide range of music, including most of the major choral and many less well-known works, orchestral pieces and commissions.
