        The Rodney Inn was in the centre of the village of Hythe facing what is now the Pier. It was soon the be rebuilt as the Drummond Arms.

A note to confuse?

 

Hythe was a small village on the side of Southampton Water. The central portion was an extraparocial part of Fawley Parish. The outer portion fell in Dibden Parish which completely surrounded the “Fawley” area.
