Andalucia is the most southerly region of Spain. Places visited by us in 2004 were Jerez, Cadiz, Sanlucar and the Donana national park.

Around Jerez many hectares of land are dedicated to growing grapes for Sherry production. The area is famous also for the breeding and riding of Andalucian horses. The national park of Donana is situated by the river Guadalquivir, a museum in the town of Sanlucar at the mouth of the river describes the history of the park and the fiestas of the gypsies who inhabit the region.

The area visited has much evidence of Moorish architecture some of which is pictured. Cadiz on the south coast was founded by the Phoenicians in 1100 BC and later inhabited by Carthaginians, Romans and Moors.
