The Bayeux Bowmen were formed back in 1994 by a group of like-minded archers, headed by founder chairman Terry White. It was felt there was the need for an archery club which would place a strong emphasis on the social aspects of archery, at the same time as being dedicated to the sport itself. Bayeux's motto, "Friendship in Archery", typifies the attitude within the club, and we are happy to be called upon to demonstrate and teach archery.

Bayeux now boasts a membership of 40, of which 20 are actively shooting. There is a strong contingent of long bow archers in the club, some of which are members of the British Longbow Society, BLBS. This element of the club can be seen regularly at long bow shoots throughout the County and at mediæval events. The club also boasts an active, although small interest in field archery. Above all, we all enjoy archery in full, no matter what the discipline.

The club colours are royal blue and navy blue for non-record status shoots and club events - a break from the traditional green and white - but return to the traditional where the Grand National Archery Society, GNAS, dictates.

We are based in the heart of 1066 Country (see Contact Details for map), ten minutes from the battlefield of Hastings, in Ninfield, East Sussex. Please browse around our site, and if your club would like to shoot against us in person or via e-mail, I am sure we can find a way.
