The site is offers an insight into the services we offer.  BDME specialises in computer aided Building Simulation and Building Visualisation and aims to offer a first class, efficient and professional service, whilst maintaining a competitive edge. The practice is based in its own purpose designed offices in Linlithgow, near Edinburgh and serves clients throughout the United Kingdom.

Company Profile

Established in 1995 by principal Derek McDonald (BSc Hons, MSc Building Services Engineering) BDME is an an independent and dynamic consultancy practice.  BDME offers a unique approach to clients - a practical understanding of construction issues gained from first hand experience working in the construction industry combined with advanced technical expertise in the application of computer aided building simulation and visualisation technologies.

The workload for the practice is wide & varied in terms of both projects and clients and continues to build on this. The practice invests heavily in quality computer hardware and uses premium specialist software to ensure project output is of the highest standard.

BDME is a Government Approved Design Advice consultancy and as such is able to offer clients a free one-day consultancy subject to project eligibility. More information on this can be found within this website.

In 1998 a second company was formed called MVM Scotland, (formerly known as Starpoint Scotland),  as a partnership with MVM Consultants (formerly known as MVM Starpoint). MVM Scotland is the distributor of MVM S2000Maxim software in Scotland, and provides a full range of training, software & consultancy services. 

BDME is a consultant member of constructiononline, the UK register of pre-qualified construction services.  BDME has been approved for the following categories of work
