Kit BK38: Düwag Grossraumwagen Triebwagen (Motor Tramcar)

Brief History

• Between 1952 and 1956, the Düwag factory in Düsseldorf built Grossraumwagen bogie trams for many tram-systems in Germany. These were built to the same overall design and looked very similar, but with slightly different window configurations.
• The Grossraumwagen motor trams often worked as coupled sets with four wheel trailer trams, such as the BEC-KITS 35 Verbandstyp II Beiwagen (trailer car), or more commonly with a Grossraumwagen bogie trailer tramcar, which is available as BEC-KITS 39 Grossraumwagen Beiwagen (Trailer Tramcar).
• Some were rebuilt in pairs later on to articulated trams for further service.

• This kit has two unmotorised bogies. A matching pair of MEDUW motorised bogies is available separately.
• A working tramcar pantograph is included.
• A range of systems is covered on the transfer sheet supplied.
