Between 1952 and 1956, the Düwag factory in Düsseldorf built
Grossraumwagen bogie trams for many tram-systems in Germany. These were
built to the same overall design and looked very similar, but with slightly
different window configurations.
Some were rebuilt in pairs later on to articulated trams for further
service.
Kit special features
This kit has two unmotorised bogies. A matching pair of MEDUW motorised bogies is available
separately.
A working tramcar pantograph is included.
A range of systems is covered on the transfer sheet supplied.
The Grossraumwagen motor trams often worked as coupled sets with with a
Grossraumwagen bogie trailer tramcar, which is available as BEC-KITS 39 Grossraumwagen Beiwagen (Trailer Tramcar).
