HO/OO Gauge Motorised Tramcar Bogie Trucks

These mechanisms represent the swivelling, short bogie trucks fitted to bogie trams with 8 wheels and 4 axles and to older articulated trams. The equal wheel bogies illustrated here have an 18mm wheelbase and equal 9mm wheels.

They are only available when ordered with one of the HO continental tram metal kits or the OO British tram plastic kits

• The bogie trucks only have a single axle drive because of the limited space between the axles for the motor.
• All the bogies trucks are supplied with 9mm wheels for the driven axle. The trailing axle normally has 9mm wheels, except in the case of a maximum traction bogie which has 7mm wheels on the trailing axle.
• The trucks are supplied with a cast metal bogie bolster for fitting to the tram.
• The trucks are supplied with a press stud pair for pivoting to the bogie bolster.
• The various 21mm P.C.C. bogies only differ in the depiction of any track brakes fitted between the wheels.
• A single motorised bogie is sufficient to drive the weight of a plastic tram kit and so all the bogies are also available in unmotorised form. However, all models run better when fitted with two motorised bogies and when simple soldering is used to wire the bogies together to share pickups. This wiring can be requested when ordering.
