Tales From The Country

Did you see us ?

Sunday night's ITV 1 programme Tales From The Country, featured some colourful performers from across the country. Our Band was part of the programme which covered Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival 2007.

The filming took place on the day of the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival in July 2007. Tony Francis, and trusty cameraman, came to "The Bell" and filmed our Band before we set out to play at the Festival. The programme makers then filmed various parts of the Festival, during the rest of the day. What great timing that it should be broadcast on the same weekend as the 2008 event !!!

Leominster Priory Church Fete and Songs of Praise
Saturday 12th July

This event was held for several of the Church's visiting Bishops from around the world
It was in the form of a traditional English Fete, during the afternoon, and then a "Songs of Praise" at the end of the day

The Band played to entertain the Bishops, during the afternoon Fete, and provided the accompaniment for some of the specially chosen Hymns during the "Songs of Praise"

Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival
Sunday 13th July

This was the third year that the Band had been invited to take part in the Festival
This year the event moved to a bigger venue at Dale End Park, which is on the edge of Ironbridge town, with more going on around the performances !

The Festival was actually over two days, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July. There were Bands playing throughout both days and it was all absolutely free !

A great day was had by all !
