Farlow School PTA Grand Fete This is Farlow School's annual Fete. It is to be held in and around Farlow and Oreton Village Hall. From Cleobury you can either go via Catherton Common, at the Ludlow end of town, or via the Bridgnorth Road / Six Ashes on the Kidderminster side of town. If Catherton stay on the lane out of Cleobury until you reach the crossroads (3 1/2 miles) just outside Oreton. Turn right and the Hall is about 1/2 mile along on your right. If Bridgnorth Road turn left at Six Ashes and follow the signs for Oreton. When you reach Oreton turn left towards Oreton Common. The Hall is about 1/2 mile on your left. From Kidderminster head for Kinlet via Bewdley, Button Oak and Button Bridge (B4194). At the end of this road (T junction) turn left towards Cleobury. After a short distance turn right signposted Stottesdon / Oreton etc. Stay on this road / lane for just over 4 miles until you turn left into a partially concealed lane (Steep bank) signposted (In the hedge !!!) Oreton. BE CAREFUL OR YOU WILL MISS IT. Go up the bank then down the other side (1/4 mile). At bottom turn right signposted Oreton Common. The Hall is 1/2 mile along on your left.
Thanks to the generosity of Cleobury Country and South Shropshire District Council the Band has put in place a project to develop it's playing numbers and further strengthen the long tradition of Brass Bands in the Cleobury area. Age
or ability should not be a barrier ! We are offering free professional tuition and the loan of a Brass Band instrument, subject to availability, for up to twelve months. After this time you will have the opportunity to join the main performance Band, or if needed, to receive further tuition until you are ready ! All you need to be part of our project is :- Plenty of enthusiasm, commitment, willingness to learn, team spirit...and a sense of fun !
