Testimonials
Winter 2011/ 2012
Bowden Group (Christmas):
Hi Claire - thankyou very much for organising our holiday over xmas we had a
fantastic time and Charlie and Kev were excellent hosts we had lovely meals
and they were very hospitable. We were very lucky with the weather and snow
conditions too. You all made a lovely effort with the xmas decorations and
it was a very special break for us. I was particually pleased that my
parents were able to enjoy the scenery and thanks to your suggestions they
were able to get up the passenger lifts... I hope we will be able to come
again with you at some time in the future.
Handy group (January 2012):
All lovely. We had a wonderful time - Charlie was fantastic. Many thanks.
Anna Handy
Paul Higdon (February 2012):
Hi Claire, fantastic half term week, great weather, fantastic snow and we
had already met Kev at Sunsail... just a very early enquiry re availability
for 2012/13... thanks again Paul
Rebecca Clark (March 2012):
Dear Claire, Thank you for a wonderful holiday! The whole experience was
just terrific and everyone is still talking about it. Charlie was a super
host, the food was fantastic and the chalet was so cosy and comfortable. The
resort was ideal for the whole family and we are keen to return next season
with some friends. Best wishes and thank you again, Rebecca
Bristow Couple (March 2012):
Hi Claire,
Just wanted to let you know we had an absolutely amazing weekend! The
chalet
was amazing, Kev was an absolute star and the skiing was fab too! Thanks so
much for letting us book the chalet and giving us an amazing weekend break.
We managed to ski 40 miles over the weekend, collected some bruises and came
back very tanned!
Winter 2010/ 2011
Steadman Mallett family (January 2011):
Hi Claire and Ben
- Thank you so much for ensuring we had a wonderful
holiday. Thank you Claire for patiently answering all my pre-holiday
queries. Thank you Ben for sorting out our skiing lessons (after my rather
botched attempt) and for all your local advice - it was lovely to meet you.
Chalet Le Cochon Noir was warm and welcoming with that traditional wooden
chalet feel that we were hoping for. The chalet hosts, Ali and Mark, were
great cooks and went out of their way to ensure our requests were catered
for. We would be very happy to use you again and recommend you to our
friends. The children are already begging us to go again next year!! Have a
great 2011 and our thanks again!
Bennett group (January 2011):
Hello Claire and Ben - Just a quick note about another excellent stay. Al
was great and very patient. The food was excellent again and although Mark
says he can't do the cakes, I for one certainly enjoyed them. I thought the
food was excellent last year but most of the boys have said that it was even
better this time. So it looks like you have chosen your staff well once
again. Thanks again for a great trip and a big thank you to Al and Mark.
Newman family (February 2011):
We had a wonderful ski holiday. Mark was the perfect host and exquisite
cook. Yes we are all heading to the gym to work off those pounds.
Rackstraw ladies (March 2011):
Thank you soooo much for a fabulous holiday - everyone said how lovely it
was. Your 'boys' did you proud and the chalets were beautiful.
Handy ladies (March 2011):
Just a quick note to pass on our thanks for a wonderful time in Morillion.
Quick and efficient transfers to a lovely light and airey chalet with
beautiful views made for a great start. Mark could not have been more
helpful and accommodating if possible. It was a joy to be cooked such
delicious meals, both breakfast (it is not often that I am tempted by a
cooked option) and dinners with too many yummie components to mention
although, a personal favourite, would have to be the thai curry (mine
without the corriander... thanks Mark!). The ski area, to which none of us
had been to before, was perfect for our mixed ability group. Additional to
the skiing effort we also appreciated the quick visits to the Wed night
market in Morillion with all its temptations (the brioche bread and butter
pudding as a result for the following night was a triumph) and the trip to
Samones - such a pretty village.... all this on top of 9:00am to 5:00pm on
the slopes! I am now back at work looking out of the window knowing where I
would rather be. Thanks Claire for your honest and efficient help and a
massive thanks to Mark ... A superb chalet host in every way. We all decided
that we needed to bring him home with us... A great chef, organised, laid
back and charming to boot.. What more could we ask for? I am sure you will
see many of us again, either in France or perhaps Cornwall....
Garlicki boys (March 2011):
Just a quick message to say thanks :-) We had a great time, and everyone is
now home - tired an in my case hungover, but happy :-) I wish you all the
very best for the future
Summer 2009
Owen family (July 2009):
We had a fantastic action packed holiday - white water rafting, mountain
biking and even did a tandem paragliding flight which we can highly
recommend. We also did a hike up into the mountains and stayed at the Alfred
Wills refuge overnight (beautiful scenery - cliffs, lakes, snow, flowers,
wire bridges over ravines!). Very impressed with the chalet, very
comfortable and views are just mind blowing...
Famile Girard (October 2009):
Nous avons passé une excellente semaine, votre chalet est très beau et très
confortable. Je laisserai une appréciation très positive sur le site de
location,
bonne continuation.
Winter 2009/ 2010
Simmons family (January 2010):
Wow it was fantastic! We were so thrilled with the chalet, and Mike was
simply wonderful. He made us feel comfortable right from the airport. The
food was great, the chalet was warm, cosy and perfect in every way. The only
improvement we could think would be a hot tub!!! The skiing was amazing,
we've all had a ball, so many many thanks for all your help in the run up to
the holiday and a big thanks to Mike for helping make our stay so fantastic.
I have no doubt we'll be in touch again in the future.
Riley group (January 2010):
Hi Claire just letting you know we had a fab holiday. Bee was brilliant and
made sure we were up every morning on time and out on the slopes. Her
breakfasts were great and filled us up for the day . It was such a rest for
Lisa and I she just made sure everything was ready for us. We usually have
to cook and clean !! She is such a genuinely nice person. Everyone was sold
on the chalet idea and found it alot nicer. I think we will definately be
returning next year. Do you do any deals for returning guests ! (YES 10%
off). Thankyou so much for a fab holiday enjoyed by all.
Hoyle group (January 2010):
Hi Claire I know you didn’t get my last email but I hope you get this one as
I want to tell you how fantastic our stay at your chalet was! The chalet was
absolutely gorgeous, roomy, warm, cosy and plenty of wardrobe space. I was a
little worried about having a chalet host, never having had one before but
as soon as we met Mike at the airport I thought that all would be well. He
was a brilliant host, very informative and friendly, cooked like a dream and
was humorous enough to keep us entertained (especially when he fell more
than us). It’s just a shame that we had to come home and I’ve had to go to
work and cook for myself boo hoo.
Jacbartat group (March 2010):
Claire just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed staying in Cochon Noir
last weekend. The chalet was lovely and Mike looked after us brilliantly. We
all had a stress free and relaxing break - just what was needed! Thanks
again

Pocock Family (January 2009)
We had a most fantastic week - Bee and Mike were fabulous. The girls want to
buy a chalet but only if it has a Bee with it!
Thank you once again for a lovely holiday and please pass on our thanks to
Bee she worked incredibly hard for us and went to great effort to give Eva a
birthday party on the slopes in the snow - it was fantastic.
Monaghan group (January 2009)
Just a quick line to say many thanks for a great few days at your chalet in
Morillon. We had a great time… skiing was good, weather was good… and Mike
did an excellent job hosting and looking after us all. Food was good, rooms
and bathrooms very pleasant and living area with log fire blazing had a
comfortable, homely feel that was very relaxing after a hard day on the
slopes. You have a wonderful chalet in a great location. Thanks again.
Smith ladies group (March 2009)
Just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic girls ski tour last
weekend. Its already feeling like a long time ago. Thanks for all the
organisation e.g. transfers and ski hire etc ; you run a very efficient
business. The chalet was great - what a view, and Bee and Mike looked after
us really well. Everything went so smoothly and the flights were even on
time - exactly what 6 stressed out mums needed. The lessons with ZigZag were
great. Our instructor was a guy called Lionel and he was fantastic. Thanks
for the recommendation. Thanks again, and you never know, we may be back!
Summer 2008
Percival family (July 2008):
Review Rating : 5/5 "I have just returned from a week at Chalet les Trolls
during the last week of July. The chalet is delightful one of the best houses
we have stayed in in France and the views are breathtaking.we met the owners
who were staying in their other chalet who made us feel really welcome and
gave us a lot of useful local knowledge. Apart from the magnificent
countryside there is plenty to occupy my family with lake swimming, mountain
biking ,canoeing, climbing, rafting and an adventure course all within 3
miles. The local towns are interesting with Samoens our favourite.Well worth
a visit."
