| The
School offers an all-round artistic training, the uniqueness
of which is that if a pupil has a special talent, it
will be encouraged and fully developed.
Artistic subjects include:- Ballet,
Tap, and Modern Dance,
Singing and Drama.
Pupils reaching the level of proficiency required are
entered for the International
Dance Teachers’ Association (I.D.T.A.)
examinations and most will have reached gold medal standard
by the time of leaving. Performances, to which parents
are invited to attend, take place throughout the school
year.
Reception
Juvenile Ballet, Tap and Modern
classes, together with singing, Drama and Production
(for 2 school performances).
Key Stage 1 and 2
Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and
6 (5-11 years of age)
Ballet, Tap and Modern classes
together with dance exams are taken (I.D.T.A.). Singing,
Drama and Production (for two school performances).
Key
Stage 3
Years 7, 8, and 9 (11-14
years of age)
Ballet, Tap and Modern classes
& dance exams taken (I.D.T.A.), Singing (with a
choice between various styles), Drama, Audition Technique
and Production for school performances. Also GCSE Drama,
Dance and Expressive Arts from Year 8.
Key Stage 4
Years 10 and 11 (14-16 years
of age)
Artistic Curriculum as above,
but an extra performance for Drama coursework is given
in the Spring Term. GCSE Drama and Expressive Arts taken
in Year 10 and GCSE Dance taken in Year 11.
