30/10/2001 FGP3L: British GP Results
Ben Saunders took 8th place in the Finnish Grand Prix 3 League at Silverstone, Britain. After a disastrous qualifying session the BSR team went back to the drawing board on setup for the race. This resulted in a race lap of over a second faster than Saunders' qualifying time. Saunders, never happy in the torrential conditions, maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, even after suffering a damaged front wing. He came home in 8th place, moving up two positions from where he qualified. Meanwhile in the race for the championship, Artur Costa of Cottster Racing secured an impressive win over title rival Aki Koskinen to close the gap in the overall standings.  The final podium place was take by Matt Maple racing for European RCT. Things could still change for Saunders as Jari Ohramaa, of the Chaos Racing team, was disqualified from 3rd pace. It is not yet known weather the Chaos team will appeal this decision.

23/10/2001 LFRS Hungary Results
The best turnout for BSR Grand Prix so far!! Excellent drives by Carlos Enrique Rivas to 9th, from 16th on the grid in Class A, and as always Daniel Wilkinson drove brilliantly to 7th!
Andy Graydon was really disappointed with his race weekend after a promising test session. He was disqualified during qualifying and is unsure why; the team are still investigating the issues behind this decision. Sven Kaeser qualified 14th in class A but after a massive warm-up shunt was declared unfit to race. He was lucky to walk away from his BSR-01 with only a broken rib. Anton Jon was disqualified from class B due to a technical breach, whilst Kent Walker qualified disappointingly in Class D, and for reasons yet unknown did not start the race. Class F was very busy for BSR Grand Prix with 6 drivers taking part. The class of the field was Brian Crowley, coming home in 16th, and new boy Peter Notaras, climbing from 22nd on the Grid to 17th in the Race. Benoit Wiersma, Nick Rogers, Ben Saunders and Amanda Short also scored valuable points for the team.
Team boss Ben Saunders commented, 'what a great turn out by the team!! This really is excellent for BSR Grand Prix and our sponsors. Well done again to Daniel for a great result. This race hs been tough for BSR and I feel especially sorry for Andy (Graydon) who put in a lot of hard work and comes away without reward. But it's really good to see some new names on the board and a real pleasure to have Colombian, Carlos Enrique Rivas driving for us, and producing a fantastic 9th place! I am also extremely relieved that Sven (Kaeser) was able to walk away from such a big shunt, all credit to our engineers!'
The BSR team will now move to the beautiful Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium for round 13 of the Championship.

22/10/2001 FGP3L: Silverstone
Championship leader Aki Koskinen was forced into third place on the grid for this weeks FGP3L race at Silverstone. Artur Costa from Portugal took pole position, followed by Jari Oharamaa of Finland. BSR's Ben Saunders was down in 10th place, over seven seconds off the pace, this was made worse by a 1 second penalty for corner cutting. The penalty meant it dropped Saunders one place from 9th on the grid. Saunders said 'I feel really down about this result. Although I was not the slowest driver out there, to be so far off the pace is a disaster for the team, all I can hope is that the setup will come good for the race and I can earn some vital points!!' As mentioned before, Bob Plummer is not competing in the British Grand Prix.

21/10/2001 FGP3L: Silverstone
Ben Saunders has been piloting the loan BSR-01 around the rain soaked Silverstone track in preparation for today's qualifying session. Bob Plummer will be sitting out the forthcoming race due to a pre planned vacation, but will hope fully be back in action for the following race. Saunders has had limited track time due to the torrential rain at he British circuit. When he did get out on tack, things weren't going to plan and he came away from the session feeling extremely downbeat. After a few off track excursions he finally put in a few flying laps but feels that he is well off the pace.

Hungaroring Report
Kent Walker, BSR driver and Australian correspondent has just sent the following report from trackside in Hungary, where he preparing for this weekends race:
Hungary is without a doubt a racers race track, unlike the long fast sweeping track Hockenheim, Hungary makes you work, and work hard.
It’s fair to say that if you love Formula One motor racing then you have to love this track. It's a genuine challenge to both driver and technician, car set up is critical, as is the ability of the driver to concentrate for the entire race.
One slip up at Hungary and you're in a wall or at very least on a sand trap or grass trying to get back on the track whilst the other drivers scream past you laughing.
Many circuits require the car to have a lot of downforce as they have tight corners, Monaco comes to mind, but Hungary does have a couple of small straightish sections where some speed is important.
If you’re too slow in these straight sections you can kiss goodbye the lap as you’ll be far too slow. If you're quick in the straights but have grip or braking issues again you’ll suffer greatly on lap times.
Without doubt its a racers circuit and BSR grand prix has genuine racers, Graydon and Wilkinson look set to set this track on fire. Or will another BSR driver be the one to master the track, his car and his concentration, to perhaps take a chequered flag?
No matter what, we will all have some fun, let's hope we can kick some butt as a team and perhaps other teams will then be chasing us wondering what the hell they’ll do to catch us!

17/10/2001 FGP3L: Silverstone
Ben Saunders has been out on his home track of Silverstone in preparation for the coming British GP. He only managed a couple of shake down laps but was reportedly very happy with the balance of the BSR-01. Bob Plummer, who may well miss the next race is due to test tomorrow (Thursday). The rest of the BSR team have been based in Hungary for the last week or so, in preparation for the LFRS championship race this weekend.

Both drivers found the race far more difficult than expected but were again happy to record a finish and pick up vital championship points. 'With only three races left till the end of the season we will be pushing hard to improve on our sixth place', commented team boss Ben Saunders. The FGP3L now moves to Silverstone, the home race for BSR Grand Prix. The team will be looking to put on a good show for their home fans although forecasts point to a wet race, the first of the season for BSR Grand Prix!!

10/10/2001 Race Comments from A Graydon
Having achieved a career best 6th place in Germany, and having driven a storming race from  13th on the Grid, Andy Graydon had these comments:
'I am really happy (both for me and the team) at 6th position in the race, especially when you note that both my qualifying lap and fastest race lap were only 13th best! I must assume that tactics and consistency won the day over the "speed over 1 lap" approach of the opposition.
I went for a two stop strategy (my set up wouldn't allow a 1 stop due to tyre wear), and managed some very consistent laps:- e.g. 4 in the 1m42's; 28 in 1m43's and 7 in the 1m44's.
The race was almost perfect with only 1 slight trip over the gravel/grass at the Ayrton Senna Kurve, only losing 3 seconds on that lap to my rivals. Well done everyone who competed, and keep on plugging away. This result shows that you do not have to post super fast times in order to get a good race result - steady consistency can provide it's own rewards.
