30/09/2001 Testing at Hockenheim
BSR drivers have again been putting in the testing hours at Hockenheim. Brian Crowley has consistently been improving his lap times, as has Andy Graydon. Short has gradually improved on her last sector time, but Walker has been continually struggling under breaking for chicanes one and two, although gains time in the stadium section. Tal Tsfany has also been out on the track for the first time in the BSR-01, and is still looking for an improved time.
29/09/2001 John Carr: New helmet
John Carr of BSR Grand Prix today released a new helmet design to be used in Hockenheim. The main reason was that his design was very similar to that of Amanda Short, all be it in different colours. He hopes his new design, which includes the Union Jack, will be not only more distinctive, but also shows his patriotism.
29/09/2001 Wilkinson: 13th on the Grid
Daniel Wilkinson, the star of BSR Grand Prix's last race, has lined up 13th on the Grid for Haifa Gear in Belgium. His impressive form continued by again out-qualifying team mate Leor Rosenbourg. BSR Grand Prix wish both drivers all the best for this weekend's race.

29/09/2001 Testing at Hockenheim
Many of the BSR GP drivers have been out on the long straights and twist turns of Hockenheim in last few days. Daniel Wilkinson was by far the fastest in the BSR-01, next up was Brian Crowley. Ben Saunders and Amanda Short spent an hour session testing yesterday. Short could match Saunders in the first two sectors but was really struggling with the stadium section. Kent Walker has been improving his set up but his downfall is the first sector as he can't quite break late enough into the first chicane. Andy Graydon has also been flying (pictured above), and so have Benoit Wiersma and Anton Jon.

Bob Plummer recorded his best result in qualifying ahead of this weekend's Canadian GP. He took a career best 7th on the grid, 5 places ahead of Ben Saunders who is still suffering with a gash to the right wrist. Aki Koskinen continues his stunning form with pole position for the Alcoholica - Toyota team.
The BSR GP team is said to have been hugely encouraged by Plummer's performance and feel that a good points finish is on the cards. The race is only days away and weather reports indicate a dry race.

25/09/2001 BSR GP's First Podium!!
A fantastic result for Daniel Wilkinson in class E of the LFRS Austrian GP has gained the first podium for BSR Grand Prix. Wilkinson drove a fantastic race from 7th on the grid to take 3rd in the race! Team boss Ben Saunders said 'what can I say, Daniel has come in to the team and on his first outing taken BSR Grand Prix's first ever podium. This is far more than I could ever have expected and I am delighted by this result!! I hope that he will be able to pass on some of his technical knowledge to the rest of the team. He really has done a superb job'.
25/09/2001 LFRS Austria Results
In all, seven drivers raced this weekend with Daniel Wilkinson taking the honours with a 3rd in class E. Andy Graydon took a brilliant 10th in class B while Kent Walker also competed in class B, had technical problems with his BSR01 resulting in disqualification due to a time infringement. Four drivers raced in class F, the best result coming from Brian Crowley in 17th. Benoit Wiersma took 18th, John Carr 23rd and Marcus Barham unfortunately crashed out.

25/09/2001 Torrid Time for Carr and Barham
Both Marcus Barham and John Carr struggled to get to grips with the A1-Ring in Austria. This was their first race weekend and they both gave it their best. In qualifying Carr initially had the upper hand with Barham finding the last sector extremely challenging. Later in the session Barham put in a good lap and the two drivers ended up pretty much level in terms of speed.
The race was a slightly different matter, with both drivers finding the going tough. Carr had a race full of incident, and running out of time, ended a lap down. After a fantastic start by Barham he turned in late at the first corner, caught the barrier, irreversibly damaging his front left suspension. Both drivers left the circuit feeling that there was a better lap time in the car. They will now be preparing for the low downforce Hockenheim track in Germany.
23/09/2001 Three New Drivers Join BSR
After this weekends race in Austria, Kent Walker is to step down from division B to division D of the LFRS. The race was held in Hungary and after grabbing 3rd in Qualifying he then went on to take 6th in the race moving him to 10th in the championship!! BSR Grand Prix would like to congratulate Daniel on a great drive!! Meanwhile, Ben Saunders, one of the Haifa-Gear test drivers had to miss the test session due to a hand injury.

22/09/2001 Tough for Walker
Kent Walker struggled with the A1-ring circuit in qualifying today but has high hopes that his consistency will prevail in the race. Kent said 'After many hours of practice I still had not come up with a set up that suited me and this course, I tried Andy's set ups but found that my performance, or driving style didn't work with his set up, I was suffering a lot of over steer in corners. I altered the set up to compensate, but it still didn't work.' Kent now goes into his first ever full length GP. Hopefully Walker and Graydon will complete the race distance.
21/09/2001 Graydon Flies in Austria
The delayed A1-Ring race is just around the corner and Andy Graydon has been out on the track in the BSR-01. Having worked on pre-qualifying, he participated in the timed session: 'I set a good lap early in the session but then struggled to put a full lap together. Finally I went out with fuel for 3 flying laps with around 10 minutes to go, and on the first flyer I improved by 0.307s. Lets hope it's a good time compared with everyone else!' commented Andy Graydon. Next up for Graydon will be the daunting prospect of a 71-lap race. Kent Walker who also races in class B has also been out on the track working on a good qualifying set-up ahead of his one hour timed session.
21/09/2001 5 New Signings Confirmed

Andy Graydon and Kent Walker will be competing in class B of the LFRS; Daniel Wilkinson goes into class E and Brian Crowley and Benoit Wiersma have joined as class F drivers. All their details can be found on the driver's pages of the site. Team boss Ben Saunders said: ' I'm delighted to have these new drivers on board, we are expanding nicely and I feel an added air of enthusiasm has swept through the team. This is our first year in competition and it is all going well. I hope that we can all work together and produce some fun racing and some good results. This really is a great time for BSR Grand Prix and all our technical partners.'

17/09/2001 LFRS Race Delayed

15/09/2001 Austria & Canada
The BSR Grand Prix team are out on two different circuits this week. Plummer and Saunders are concentrating on set up in Canada ahead of the next FGP3L race. Meanwhile back in Europe, Carr and Barham are preparing for qualification at the A1-Ring. Hopefully the data collected at the recent race in Austria will aid the LFRS team. Carr is doing the majority of BSR running with Ben Saunders sidelined due to a hand injury sustained at Montreal.
12/09/2001 FGP3L Austrian Race Results
BSR Grand Prix scored their first points in the FGP3L with Bob Plummer leading the way. A great drive by Plummer from 12th on the grid to 7th in the race gave BSR Grand Prix 6 points to add to the 3 that Ben Saunders gained for 10th place. The race was again won by the Finnish star Aki Koskinen. Plummer was delighted to have moved up the order after a very consistent drive in Austria. Saunders was just pleased to have finished after the nightmare the team endured in Monte Carlo. He commented, " Monaco was an awful way to start our season in the FGP3L, I have a real problem with consistency in the races and that's what I need to concentrate on. I shall be working hard in the gap between Austria and Canada, with a few race distance tests. But overall it's a great day for the team to finally score some points, and Bob drove an inspired race to claim 7th". Plummer, the strongest of the pair in the races, is already concentrating on a setup for Canada and has high hopes of adding to the teams points tally.

7/09/2001 Short Closes Performance Gap
Both Short and Saunders were on track at Spa yesterday. Saunders came out on the track first, setting the pace for the session. Short's first runs were almost eight seconds slower, but after a few more runs she was delighted to have closed the gap to within three seconds. There is a second test session booked for today with Short again working on her pace around what is arguably the drivers favourite track. Saunders was unhappy with the handling of the BSR-01 and was frustrated at not being able to adjust the set-up of the car. The rules for this test state that the car set-up must be left unchanged. Surprisingly both drivers opted for the hard compound Michelin tyres, although it is thought that the soft compound will be used by Short today as she strives to find time in the middle sector.

Austria Qualifying - FGP3L
Ben Saunders qualified in 10th and Bob Plummer 11th, both disappointed with their progress. Pole position went to Cottster Racing's Portuguese driver, Artur Costa in a superb time of 1m09.897s, almost seven tenths quicker than anyone else. Saunders was just under three seconds back with Plummer fractionally over the three-second mark. Both drivers went quicker in the following practice session so the team is feeling more positive about the race this coming weekend. The team boss commented, 'Lack of track time and initial problems with set-up proved costly for our drivers, but I think we have done some good work since. After our disastrous first race in Monaco, our first aim is to get both cars to the finish line. If we can move up the standings as well, that would be fantastic'

4/09/2001 Team Changes
John Carr has now been confirmed as the second driver for BSR Grand Prix in the LFRS team. Last night the team boss made this statement, ‘I am delighted to welcome Amanda Short, Marcus Barham and John Carr to the BSR Grand Prix team. It’s a very exciting time for us and it means that we can continue competing in both the Finnish Grand Prix 3 League and the Little Formula Racing Series. The chance for Ben Saunders and Bob Plummer to return to the LFRS still exists, but due to the increase in testing necessary to be competitive in the FGP3L, they will move away from the LFRS for the foreseeable future. Bob Plummer also becomes the technical director of BSR Grand Prix and his excellent work on car set-up will enable the rest of the team to benefit in terms of competitiveness. I hope we can now start to produce the results that I know we all crave’

Haifa-Gear Test Results
Ben Saunders finished in 9th place in his first Haifa-Gear test at Hockenheim. The results of the test put him in 11th place in the reserve driver's standings with 2 points. Although being 4 seconds off the winner, Saunders was happy with his pace, as he did not have much track time in Germany. The test was won by Jeroen Van Driel for Audi. The next reserve driver test will be held in Budapest in the next few weeks.

Progress at Austria
Both Bob Plummer and Ben Saunders were happy with the progress they made at the A1-ring. They both originally struggled with massive over steer at the Remus-Kurve, but after minor set-up changes, made steady progress throughout the weekend to set what they hope will be competitive qualifying times in the FGP3L. Bob Plummer ended the session just five hundredths of a second behind his team-mate. The results of qualifying should be available shortly.

3/09/2001 3 new drivers for BSR Grand Prix
The BSR team has today announced sweeping changes to the driver line up. The biggest news is a new test driver and two new drivers for the LFRS team. Ben Saunders and Bob Plummer will continue in the Finnish GP3 League but will give up their seats in the LFRS. Amanda Short is to become the official test driver for the BSR Grand Prix team. The LFRS team will now run Marcus Barham in a confirmed race seat and John Carr in a Provisional race seat. Both new LFRS drivers were in action this weekend at the Austrian track in preparation for their first race in 2 weeks time. Marcus Barham made big in roads during his first BSR-01 test session. He originally lapped in a best time of 1m15.655s. But after conferring with Ben Saunders and working on his set up, he managed a 1m14.000s. John Carr was slightly off the pace but will continue testing this week.
