Cumnock to Inveranan

    Today's report comes via Geraldine as the lads have managed to find a location beyond the reach of Cellnet.. For a small fee I'll tell you where this is!

    After a long day the trio covered 96 miles from Cumnock to Inveranan, a few miles beyond the planned halt of Ardlui.

    They enjoyed brilliant weather, very cool in these northern climes.. but sunshine throughout the day .

    From Cumnock they traveled to Paisley locating the 'Art Trail'  taking them over the Erskine Bridge across the Clyde providing them with fantastic views.

    They then connected with the 'Glasgow to Loch Lomond Cycle way' as far as Ballock then following the A82 up the west side of loch Lomond to Inverarnan.

    The cycling went well making fast progress. Chris had his first puncture of the trip and Bill had another on the Glasgow to Loch Lomond Cycle way despite his puncture resistant tyres.

    The scores now stand at Bill + 4; Phil = 3; Chris = 1.

    The highlights on the day were:- the trip from Cumnock down into Kilmarnock: the view from the Erskine Bridge; the superb food at The Stagger Inn Inverarnan that included a wonderful haggis starter and the welcome to their B & B at Falloch.

    The lowlights were:- little time to stop and admire the wonderful scenery; the abysmal signposting on the Glasgow to Loch Lomond Cycle way and the poor hospitality at the Drovers Inn in Inverarnan. ( Fortunately the Stagger Inn was just opposite!)
