Much Wenlock to Wirrel
The team arrived home safely at 6.15 this evening completing the first half of their journey.
Leaving Much Wenlock this morning traveling through Little Wenlock heading for Whitchurch in heavy rain that lasted till 3.00 pm they were able to try out their heavy wet weather gear for the first time on the trip.
Traveling through Iron Bridge and Iron Bridge gorge saw the hardest climb of the day.
After lunching at a very acceptable 'truckers' cafe they took an old roman road passing through Malpas to reach Chester for 3.45 pm.
Relaxing after a day that had gone well for them after the problematic Wednesday they were very pleased with their progress and celebrated with tea and cakes at the Blue Moon cafe overlooking the River Dee.

A leisure ride took them along the new Millennium Cycle way linking Chester with the Wirrel.
77 miles were completed on the day taking the total up to 425 miles to date. Today had seen their fastest average speed over the day of 12 MPH. Not bad in heavy rain and stopping for all those tea and cake sessions!
Tomorrow is a rest day when the trio have chance to collect themselves and check their bikes over ready for the next stage of their journey.
