Kirby Lonsdale to Brampton
Rain, rain, rain - misty, poor visibility and cold. A bad day!
However our team arrived at Brampton, after completing their planned 66 miles, safe and sound.
Although it had been a dismal day with constant rain the terrain had not been too bad though they had experienced a lot of unrelenting but steady climbs giving plenty of opportunity to reflect on the excellent meal they had enjoyed the previous evening at The Whoopinghall Hotel.
Geraldine and Rachel, Bills wife and daughter, provided very welcome support at lunchtime administering a picnic at Temple Sowerby.

To warm-up they all repaired to The Temple Sowerby House hotel where they were welcomed regally by Julie & Paul Evans and treated to tea and cakes in the conservatory. After learning the journey was supporting very worthy charities Julie & Paul made a most generous donation.

Later in the day, now on their own again, a stop was made at a cafe in Orton near Tebay services, for homemade Lentil and Bacon soup. Just the ticket for the wet and cold travelers.
The evening saw Bill, Chris and Phil dining at their hotel The White Lion in Brampton.
