The S-series covered the 250 (S1), 350 (S2) and 400 (S3) triples. Starting with the 1972 S1 (Mach I), the 250 went through a number of changes, and the S1A, S1B, S1C were followed by the KH250A5 through B5. The 1972 S2 (Mach II) was followed by the S2A, but the 350 range was discontinued in favour of the S3 in 1974, the S3A giving way to a host of KH400 models until the A8 in 1980.
