Dobcross is a small village of around 800 homes in the Pennine Hills, 5 miles east of Oldham, 12 miles west of Huddersfield. It is part of Saddleworth, the name for a string of villages including Diggle, Delph, Denshaw, Uppermill and Greenfield,  along the upper reaches of the river Tame.  Brief history of the village here-  Brief tour of the main features of the village and its architecture here-
