Billy Matthews is a Songwriter and Composer, a Producer, a Performer and an Artist Manager. His main instruments are bass (electric and upright) and guitar, but he can also play harmonica, mandolin, sing, and play keyboard parts. He holds a Diploma in Music (Dip. Mus) and gets by with charts, some music, and by ear. He has a firm appreciation of all genres of music, and has played traditional, blues, pop, country, rock, and even a little classical. He's willing to take just about any gig that is interesting, and prides himself on being professional at all times whilst still having fun. He's gigged in Scotland (including at Hampden Park, and at Barrowlands), England, Ireland, America, France and Russia ...

Billy also runs a 16-track studio, where he produces music for commercial purposes (web sites, adverts and so on) as well as developing demos for his songs. The studio is equipped to professional standards, with separate drum and acoustic rooms, and utilises both computer and conventional recording equipment. Billy also can record live, and his sound engineering skills are always available for hire.

Billy's songwriting skills have taken him in several directions, both individually and in collaboration with some great musicians. The output has been heard as far afield as Australian radio and currently features on the new Evangeline CD ...
