| Shelley Brackenridge -
Vocals, guitar. Picked up the music gene
from parents, who played on the English cabaret
circuit, and often joined them on stage. Took up
sax at age 14, becoming proficient, but dropped
music for college.Took up singing again in 1999
in a covers band, staying until late 2000. Left
to focus on writing with Bill and learning to
play guitar and keyboards.Performed as half of
BRACKENRIDGE nb, and hit the idea of a Texas
tribute during the 'Greatest Hits' tour. Chief
organiser in the band, Shelley keeps the diary
and can reduce grown men to a quivering heap with
just simple look. Definitely the boss .... |

|
| Bill Matthews - Guitars,
vocals. First played guitar at 14,
playing in a dodgy Police covers band. Went back
to playing by taking up the bass gig in a 'works'
band in 1998, meeting Shelley. Left the covers
band in 2001, then made a number of appearances
in BRACKENRIDGE nb (an acoustic duo). Thought of
a Texas tribute band same day as Shelley after a
Feb 2001Texas gig at the Glasgow SECC. Reverted
to guitar when the first musician that showed up
was a bassist. Plays bass in top country band Evangeline, and does
the occasional dep spot in a ceilidh band. Also plays with The
Mircale Workers and runs music management company
M2M2 . |

|
| Stewart McEwan - Bass. Has
been playing bass guitar since 12 years old,
starting off in club bands and graduated to high
school band. Since then has played with almost
everyone on the incestuous Glasgow music scene.
Highlights include the first version of Deacon
Blue, leaving minutes before they signed to CBS.
Became a convert to soul music through a spell in
Big Vern 'n the Shootahs. Third member of
Southside after replying to an advert in 'the
yellow paper'. Runs his own showband. |

|
| Andy Holmes - Drums. In
true Texas style, Andy is the third Southside
drummer. Andrew first played drums at age 12 for
the Boys Brigade, and was a member of various
award winning school bands. Highlight was playing to a sell-out crowd at the Royal
Concert Hall in Glasgow. He studied music at
Perth College and caught the bug for recording
and playing in rock bands. In parallel he has
played for theatre companies and is a regular
during the pantomine season. He joined Southside
in December 2001, and has picked up the material
outrageously quickly. Also plays in top country
band Evangeline and rock
outfit Citizen Band. |

|
| Neil Dunn - Keyboards,
vocals. Started piano lessons at the age
of 7, but switched to guitar when he got his
first instrument at age 11. Started his first
band at 14, then spent a couple of years in Gerry
Rafferty and Joe Egan's band. Moved onto cover
bands, supporting stars of the circuit. Met
Shelley and Bill through being the founder member
of Them Again, where guitar was his main
instrument. A multi-instrumentalist, Neil plays
guitar, bass, steel guitar, keyboards,
clarinet, and can manage on the drums. Joined
Southside when Bill and Shelley were looking for
someone in a hurry who was versatile,
competent,obliging, dependable and gullible. |
