Record Condition Grading

Condition Codes

The following codes are used to describe the condition of records on the list

E+
Very little (if any) groove wear & no scuffs or scratches. A Fine Copy

E
Some minor groove wear and/or minor scuffs or scratches. An excellent copy

E-
Some significant wear and some scuffs and/or scratches. A very playable copy

V+
Considerable wear and/or many scuffs or scratches. Some noise but plays OK

V
Badly worn and scratched. Not playable without high noise level. A poor copy

Where the condition of two sides of a disc differs then
these are given individually eg E+/E.

Other Abbreviations

The following abbreviations are used as needed:

EB   = edge bite,  HC = hairline crack , LC = lamination crack
lbl sticker = non original paper sticker on label,
LSM = light surface marks or rubs, NAP = not affecting play
ND = needle dig , ndl run = needle run, RF = rim flake, SCR = scratch
sd1 = side 1, sd2 = side 2, sfce rubs = surface rubs, ULC = under-label crack

Record collecting should be an enjoyable hobby, and I want you to look forward to receiving records from this list. I have tried to accurately grade records according to the above criteria; where necessary these gradings have been qualified by additional comments to provide a more accurate picture of any defects or special features.
