The purpose of this web site is to provide the reader with an overview of personal computers, information technology, digital photography, genealogy and training in their use. I have also provided links to useful information for both residents and visitors to Northern Ireland in respect of tourism, holiday travel, flights and other general information.

Computing - This section provides a general description of the elements of a personal computer. Hardware, Software and Applications. The function they perform and how to maintain them in good working order

Security - This section provides information and advise about firewalls, spyware, viruses, trojans and how to prevent malious users accessing and corrupting your computer and the data stored on it.

Utilities - This section provides links to various programs and files which I have found to be essential for restricting and removing spyware, e-mail spam, filtering ads and for downloading unzipping files, etc. As I come across other useful programs I will add them to the utilities section. I am using all of the programs listed and have experienced no ill effects, however if you are unsure please seek further advise from an experienced user.

Training - This section provides information on training aids, books, interactive CD's, tutorials and courses in respect of Microsoft applications and digital photography.

Tutorials - This section contains some basic tutorials which I have produced as a general training aid for Photoshop. These PDF files (Adobe Acrobat Reader) can be accessed from the tutorials button, however more advanced tutorials for photoshop and the applications I use can be found by utilising the various web site links or by making reference to training resources where I believe the information, training and tutorials are of the highest quality available.

Photographic - This section provides links to photoshop, digital imaging, cameras, printers and scanners.

Images - This section contains some general digital photographic images which I have taken since becoming interested in photography.

Visitors - This section provides tourist information for visitors to Northern Ireland and my local community in the Bangor and North Down area.

Travel - This section provides links to airline and flight information, road, sea and rail travel, holiday deals, weather, currency conversion and the UK Foreign Office travel advice.

Newspapers - This section provides links to International, Local and UK Daily Newspapers.

Genealogy - This section provides information and links on how to research and create your own family tree.

Whilst I use a digital camera for pleasure and the enjoyment of taking part in my local camera club competitions the photographic Images displayed in the photographic galleries are secondary to the purpose of this web site and have been reduced in quality to ensure adequate downloading of the web site over a 28.8 kbps dialup internet connection. The photographs displayed were taken with a Nikon 990 Digital Camera and manipulated in Photoshop.
