In non pay and display car parks take the ticket with you don't leave it in the car thus if your car is stolen there is a better chance that the pay booth attendent will remember the thief's face when they have to pay the full days rate for parking.
If you park your car in a garage at night remember to use any security devices, lock the car and the garage door, some garage doors are not very secure so don't just depend on them.
Never leave the keys in the ignition. If your car is stolen not only is this very embarrassing, you may also find that your insurance company will not pay your claim.
All insurance policies state that :- the insured's have a duty to keep their vehicle in a good state of repair but also to take reasonable steps to ensure their vehicle is secure when left unattended.

'TRACKER' type devices are able to locate your car, normally within minutes of of the device being activated.
Once you report the car stolen the service provider can usually inform the Police of the cars location to within a few hundred yards. They are not cheap but neither is your new car.
