Sandra Burton, Neighbourhood Watch Liaison Officer

Billericay Police Station, Billericay CMI2 9AB

    01277 631212 ext. 45431

    MERRY CHRISTMAS
    FROM NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH,
    ESSEX POLICE,DECIBELS AND
    CRYSTAL PRINT

And special thanks to all the many unpaid and often forgotten co-ordinators that deliver your newsletter each month. Without the dedication of these people Billericay Neighbourhood Watch would stop.

There is always room for more people to help, if you can spare one hour a month to help us, please let us know by calling us at the Police Station.

Thanks again and again and again to Decibels and Crystal Print who every month contribute the entire cost of producing 5,000 copies of this newsletter (that is 60,000 copies a year). Without their continuing generous support we would not be able to continue the newsletter production.

Christmas is a time for giving and, it seems for taking turn over and look at the crime figures on the back of this page!

The criminal element are more active at this time of the year because there is more money being spent and lots more to steal. Dont give them a Happy Christmas, be more alert and vigilant than usual. We have added the Criminal Damage figures this month; and we are sure that not all the crimes have been reported. Christmas is the time for lots more booze, which affects some of the more stupid people and causes them to damage other peoples property for no good reason. If you see any crime being committed - tell the Police. We know that they cannot catch all the criminals but unreported crime gives a false impression of what is happening in Billericay.

Low reported crime will mean that Police resources will be focused away from our town.

    Cycle Marking

Dont forget that we will be holding a cycle marking session at the Police Station on Saturday 6 January 10am to noon. If you are giving or receiving a bike for Christmas, bring it along and we will be happy to mark it for free.

So long and many thanks to Sandra Burton, who has for the past five years been the Liaison Officer and lynch pin of Billericay Neighbourhood Watch. Sandra has been at the Police Station at least two evenings a week, besides attending many committees and events that involve Neighbourhood Watch, all this as well as holding down a full time job and running a home. Changes of circumstance now force Sandra to take a well-earned rest. From everyone in Biliericay Neighbourhood Watch, "thank you Sandra for all your hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and humour, without you we would not be where we are today".

You will still see Sandra at some events, she will still be a fervent supporter and as always, caring for the community. Roy her better half (although she may dispute that) will still continue to run and fund out of his own pocket the Billericay Neighbourhood Watch website (www.btinternet coml.-billericay.nw/sitelindex.html); thanks again Roy.

Would you I could you replace Sandra?

If you think you could help us as the Liaison officer, please call us at the Police Station, the work is hard, the hours long and the pay is great in satisfaction. The job, like all other Neighbourhood Watch jobs is purely voluntary.
