    DECIBELS continue offer

Decibels, who are one of our newsletter sponsors, have kindly agreed to continue last months offer of UV radio/cassette security marking still for the bargain price of £2.50.

We would just remind those of you who have coded radio_s to ensure that you take along your radio security pin

    number.

They are also continuing their offer of 15% off fitted alarms and immobilisers so act now.

This offer will apply for a limited period excluding Saturdays and will be subject to some restrictions (please ring them to discuss).

Please take this newsletter along to claim you discount as per the discount voucher overleaf.

We do appreciate that an alarm or immobiliser may not be cheap but neither is the cost of making a claim for theft of your car under your motor insurance policy.

When you take into account the £100 or so excess you have to pay and then the loss of your No Claims Bonus Discount, then the cost of making your car more secure seems to be the cheaper option.

Don_t wait until you become a victim of car crime, ACT NOW.

We have been advised by Decibels that the offer has been going very well and many of you are taking on the challenge to make both your car and its contents more secure.

So those of you have haven_t yet acted upon this, please join our battle to reduce car crime as the crime figures overleaf once again are high for both theft of and theft from vehicles.

    ALL CLUED UP ON DRUGS

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the April Meeting which was on the subject of Drugs.

Our guest speaker was Pc Dave Letch who is the Schools Liaison Officer for Wickford and the reports that I have received from many of you was that this was both one of the most eye opening and interesting talks you_ve ever attended.

Our thanks go to Dave and for also stepping in at the last minute due to the original speaker having had to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances.

    June Meeting

We will be having the pleasure of Malcolm Oakley from Crimestoppers at the June meeting who will be talking about the work of Crimestoppers in enabling the public to assist the police in the solving of crimes.

All members are welcome so we hope to see you on the night.

    Bournemouth here we go!

Our coach trip is now booked to Streetwise and we_re off to the seaside.

This should be a fun day out which we will all learn from and although we hope we never have to use the information we learn on the day, we will be better prepared to cope if put in danger.
