Wee Daves Fishing Expedition 2000
| The outing of Friday 5th May was a glorious sunny day in fact the best we have had in Norfolk for a couple of weeks, it was a quick unplanned trip out to Barford Lakes, anyone who was free for the afternoon was welcome to go. After sorting out the parking of cars etc and the rigging up of tackle a good five hours of fishing was done by all those attended, and some fish caught. |

A Norfolk Fisherman Boilies, Maggots, Worms, Luncheon Meat, Fry, Sweets "Them who brave the waters of East Anglia deserve to catch fish in great quantities" (is a saying amongst the sane), even in the summer when the sun is shining and the skies are blue, beware of those North Easterly winds. North Norfolk has got some wonderful lakes for fishing and many a good match has take place without anyone Blanking, and weigh-ins beating most records, but to see the red and rugged faces the following day is a site that must not be missed. With a smile that stretching from ear to ear, beaming as if they had just won a million on the lottery, these Norfolk Fisherman must be a breed of their own, and I am glad that some of these hardy men and women are members of our Dragon Club. With Roach Poles of all sizes and weights, telescopic with elastic ends, Match Rods of all brand names and descriptions some of which only cost a few pounds to those you would have to take a mortgage out to pay for. You have heard it all before its not what you can afford its how you play the game, I mean sport or do I mean hobby well what ever, if you cant hook it, it dont count. If only we could match the fish in those T.V. programs, most of the lads I am sure sit in front of that set with their tongues hanging out wondering what they are doing wrong, well they are not doing anything wrong they should have taken a big one with them smuggled up their jumper, no-one would ever know!! To hear all those wonderful sounding names, like Shallow Brook Lakes, Barford Match Lakes, Etc .
