The Beginning

CallyCally was the only member of the original crew who did not have a criminal record prior to her meeting Blake. She lived on the planet Auron where she rebelled against the isolationism of Auron's leaders and joined the resistance movement on Saurian Major. For this she suffered exile from her own people which she admitted to Tarrant in Children Of Auron.

When the Liberator visits Saurian Major (Time Squad) Blake meets Cally for the first time as she is preparing for a suicide mission against the Federation communications relay station. Her first words, 'Who are you', were telepathically transmitted to Blake and about her suicide mission she declares, 'There will be companions for my death. I plan to raid the Complex and destroy until I am destroyed'.

The Character

Cally in actionCally was dedicated, idealistic, clever, brave, and perfectly capable of taking prompt action on her own initiative. She often seemed to function as the soul of the crew, personifying the feminine principle or anima, but she also demonstrated dangerous kamikaze tendencies. It was she who suggested raiding the Federation Weapons Research Base for armaments to attack Federation Control with, and when Blake revealed his intention to join with Kasabi's resistance fighters in raiding Earth Control, she backed it instantly.

Of all the crew, Cally had the most empathy with Blake and his aims although she did question his fanaticism in Star OneWhen he was wounded and left the crew she moved into a closer relationship with Avon, probably as she was his only remaining intellectual equal, and he manifested unusual concern for her well being. This attachment armed her to break the hold of the Intruder from the Sarcophagus to prevent her from slaughtering Avon, who had deliberately provoked her to a killing rage to this end, in order to regain control of the Liberator.

The End

Cally stayed with the Liberator until it was destroyed above Terminal (Terminal). Her last spoken words were, 'she's going to go', referring to the breaking up of Liberator. Later, when the underground complex on terminal blew up, she telepathically screamed the word 'Blake' and Avon reported Cally dead in Rescue, no body was ever seen.
