The first ever episode of Blake's 7 aired in the UK on 2nd January 1978. After a run of 13 episodes the first series finished on 27th March 1978.

After a successful first season Blake's 7 ran for 3 further series with one series being aired per year. 51 episodes later the final episode was aired on 21st December 1981.

Although the final episode left us with the fate of the characters uncertain no more episodes were ever produced or are expected. Speculation about a possible film has proven to be unfounded.

Like many long running TV series Blake's 7 featured some good and some not-so-good episodes. Many agree the best episodes came in the 1st and 2nd series where the show had a definite direction; Blake was in charge, the crew followed Blake in his ultimate goal to destroy the Federation, and the awesome Liberator was their spacecraft . The 3rd series saw Avon take over as leader and even here there were some memorable episodes, the most poignant (in my opinion anyway - Ed.), being the last episode cliffhanger where Liberator was destroyed. The 4th series saw the crew in a more conventional spacecraft and with this the show seemed to loose it's unique identity. As it cast around to find a new direction viewing figures fell and the last episode cliffhanger, where all the crew appeared to be killed, proved to be the last ever.

Whatever your particular favorites the low budget called for a formula which used highly character based story lines where the dialogue was the chief glory. Each character, however lowly, was highly articulate and most of them had an advanced vocabulary requiring precise delivery. The language was pithy and economical; Blake's retort "They murdered my past and gave me tranquilised dreams" conveys the monstrous nature of Federation control in one short sentence.

The program guide we have listed here is ordered in the sequence the episodes were first aired on the BBC. In the listing click the title to view a transcript of that episode.
