The Lundy Island Society was
formed by ringers who had an interest in the restoration of the bells of St.
Helena's Church on Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel. Originally installed in
1897, the bells became unsafe very quickly; the society's main aim was to
completely restore this fine ring of eight. Now this has been completed, any
money made by the society goes towards the upkeep of the bells. See History
for more on the restoration project, and Bell Info for information on
the bells themselves.
Membership is only £12.50 for life (which also reduces your peal fee from
six pounds to just two pound, and only £1 instead of £2 for a quarter peal).
Contacts for membership or enquiries about booking the bells can be found in
the Ringing World Diary, or email the society's secretary for further
information. The email link is in the site menu, above and below.
