- If you supply your own backing and/or batting please ensure that they are:
- Supplied as separate pieces and not sandwiched together.
- At least 3” larger all round than your pieced top to allow for the shrinkage that naturally occurs during quilting.
- Pre-washed, unless you wish to achieve
an antique look when the quilt is subsequently washed.
- If the edges of your quilt are pieced, please stay-stitch them as this will help minimise any stretching or puckering
of the finished edges.
- Press your pieced top and backing (if supplied) and snip all thread ends.
- If you wish one of the edges of your quilt to be treated as the top please mark this with a label.
If, for example, you choose a pattern with flowers you may wish for these to ‘grow’
up your bed quilt rather than down!
