GINGERBREAD MEN

 

You will need

340g (12 oz) plain flour

A few raisins

1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda

1 beaten egg

4 tablespoons golden syrup

175g (6 oz) soft brown sugar

115g (4 oz) butter

2 teaspoons ground ginger

 

1. Set the oven at 190c/375F/Gas mark 5.Then grease the baking tray.

2. Put the butter, sugar, and syrup in a saucepan and stir them together over low heat until they have melted.

3. Sift the flour ground ginger, and bicarbonate of soda into the mixing bowl and add the syrup mixture and the beaten egg.

4. Mix everything together and knead it into a ball.Then chill the dough in a plastic bag in the fridge for 30 mins.

5. Sprinkel some flour on the table and roll out the dough.Then use biscuit cutters to cut out shapes or men out of the dough.

6. Put the shapes on the tray and put raisins on them to decorate.Then bake the biscuits for 10 to 15 mins until they are golden brown.
