Ythan CC Confined Time Trial Series Information

The club run a series of confined time trials throughout the summer cycling season. The time trials are normally run on a 10 mile out and back course leaving from Ellon and turning at a point after the Haddo estate. These are officially training rides for those wanting to perfect their TT’ing ability and to introduce newcomers to the joys of the ‘race of truth’.

The training time trials are run every two weeks, over the summer, and are designed to help promote the club and give newcomers an insight into time trailing before they enter open events. The race starts at 1830 every second Tuesday evening but it is suggested you turn up before this to get your race number, familiarise yourself with the start and warm up before the race starts.

The club record for the ‘10’ course is 22mins 54secs set on the 18th Aug 2009 by Colin Duncan.  Most mere mortals get no where near this time so don’t worry about it.  Colin is pictured below at an Ythan 10 mile time trial in July 2009.

The meeting point for the race is behind the Co-op supermarket on Craigs road in Auchterellon.

At the end of the race all the times will be announced by the timekeeper.

Race results and the latest league positions are posted and discussed on the ‘race’ section of the Ythan CC forum:
