Race Report from Deeside Thistle 10mTT
27/7/06 - Race Report from Ian Adams 10 miles, 17600 yards, 16.09 Kilometres, 8 furlongs, 5.215528674e-14
parsecs, however you measure the distance it never seems to get any easier.
Never the less a select group of North East riders lined up for the off,
a balmy summers evening made for a nice start and the predicted downpour which
was threatening Inverurie with New Orleansesque floods only came to a light
shower. First off for Ythan was Carol
Middleton closely followed by Ian Adams and Caroline Runcie.
Both Ian and Carol posted PBs and thankfully Carol managed to keep her
language clean when Ian caught her just before the turn (for a change). Carol
kept her losses from Ian down after the turn but your impartial author thinks
this may have only been to get a closer look at Ian’s fine ass. With
Sean Monaghan breathing down her neck Fiona Duncan posted a seasons best time
getting back early enough to raid the Tea and cakes before many other riders had
finished. Her appetite was brought
to a screeching halt after some questions were raised over the source of the
tablet! Dave Carnegie and Andy Duncan were both set off mid pack and posted solid
times. Andy may have posted a
quicker time had he not discovered the ‘Three Thai Boys’ next to his new
flat, claims that “it is a takeaway…honest” are yet to be corroborated.
Last man off for Ythan was Russ Craig, unfortunately due to two DNS’s
Russ had nobody to chase down not that it made any difference to his time,
blowing his previous PB away with an initially estimated “under 24 I think”. Post race everyone seemed pleased enough with their times, Ythan picking
up the 3rd place male courtesy of Russ (Fast dad) Craig and Carol
with first Lady, Ellen came over to congratulate Carol on a close race but
frankly Carol whipped ass!
