Richard Reeve
studied Art and Design at Wakefield District College for 2 years.
After gaining his National Diploma he started work for the West
Yorkshire Archive Service. He undertook professional training
spread over a three year period, gaining a Diploma in Archive
Conservation from the Society of Archivists.
Whilst working
for the West Yorkshire Archive Service he undertook the treatment

importance.

Richard
always believed there was a need for this kind of specialised
work to be made available to the general public as well as large
organisations. Consequently in 1994 he became self-employed,
creating
Richard Reeve Restoration Ltd. Initially it was a small business
undertaking work for museums, record offices and members of
the public etc. Since then the customer base has grown to include
many major institutions, such as the National Railway Museum,
National Coal Mining Museum for England and numerous other
museums, record offices, financial institutions and universities
etc.

He is still
an active member of the Society of Archivists, frequently attending
training seminars and conferences, keeping abreast of current
conservation techniques and further developing his professional
experience.

 |
| Richard
Reeve is listed on the Conservation Register database as being
appropriately qualified to undertake the full range of archive
conservation. The Conservation Register set extremely high standards
of eligibility for inclusion, therefore giving potential customers
reassurance that any work undertaken will be carried out to the
highest possible professional standard. In addition, Richard
has recently become one of only a handful of conservators worldwide
to have been granted accredited status in archive conservation
by the Society of Archivists. |
