Ski Resorts - Reviews (in some cases just my recollection of the Ski Areas.)

Reports to follow include:-

Mammouth & Lake Tahoe areas in The Sierras of California

Maureen and I went to these two areas in 1996 for our silver wedding. We travelled all that way and had a two week long BLIZZARD.

Still, we couldn't complain that there wasn't enough snow and how many people can really say they have skied in powder that was chest deep. I'll tell you all about that soon.

Cairngorm near Aviemore, Scotland

Ski Scotland's Official Website

There is lots to say about our own national ski areas. When the snow and conditions are right the skiing is as good as anywhere in the world. When its not .........

Anyway you will not find anywhere more hospitable, the beer is cheaper and it won't cost fortune if you hurt yourself.

More to the point if you live anywhere further north than Manchester you can get there in a reasonable time and there are no ferries, tunnels or road tolls to pay for.

More on this area soon.

Alp d'Huez

Sarjavo

One year after the Olympics were held there and 10 years before the war we went to Sareavo for our first ski holiday.

I hope that the situation improves there so they can start earning the money to rebuild their lives.

I want to be in the first party to go there when the mountains are reopened to the tourist trade.

Chamonix

I haven't personally been to Chamonix yet but I know a man who has.

I am looking forward to trying Chamonix some time in the future the skiing looks awesome.

Ski Valkyrie I know that Malcolm Brown of Ski Valkyrie also has connections in Chamonix so try him if you are interested on 01622 763745 and tell him who sent you

Tignes and Val D'Isère

Tignes Official Website

Val D'Isère Official Website

Loads of companies go to Tignes and Val D'Isére. Try Malcolm Brown at Ski Valkyrie for an independant or any of the glossy brochure companies

Tignes and Val D'Isère are only about an hour and a half away from La Plagne by car and you can use the 6 day La Plagne ski pass for one day of the 6 in "L'Espace Killy".

Just present your 6 day pass at the ski pass office at either resort. They will clip your La Plagne pass and issue a day pass for the whole area
