This is a London and North Eastern Railway K4 Class 2-6-0 outshopped from Darlington Works in June 1938. It spent most of its life working in Scotland from Glasgow to Fort William and ended its service in December 1961. It was lucky enough to go straight to private ownership and eventually after excursion work for some years went to the Seven Valley Railway where it ran until major restoration became necessary. It has now been fully restored and is in regular use and, as you can see, it is quite magnificent.
