This H G Ivatt LMS Engine design was actually made by British Railways after Nationalisation at the former GWR Locomotive Works at Swindon. It left the factory in February 1953 and spent most of its working life in the Brecon area of Wales. It retired to Woodhams at Barry in 1967 and arrived at the SVR in 1971. In this picture she is carrying a bell which suggests that she has been to the USA at some time. If anyone knows why please email me at bodgerjim@btinternet.com .
