These restrictions, together with those detailed on the field layout plans, apply to powered aircraft only in the interests of noise control as instructed by the C.A. and do not apply to "silent flight" which is allowed at any time when the school is not in session.

Casual visitors must provide proof of adequate insurance and competence before permission to fly will be granted. Any visitors must agree to abide by the rules & regulations of Boldon C.A.M.A.C.

Visitors may fly as the guest of a member to a maximum of two visits. Previous or lapsed members do not have guest status and must rejoin prior to further use of the field.

Goal posts must not be removed and any missing or damaged must be reported to the C.A. before flying begins.

The following rules are for the general safety of all members and must be adhered to at all times

on the flying field and must be conveyed to visiting pilots.

1 All members must comply with the BMFA Safety Code ( see BMFA Handbook)

2 Powered models/helicopters must be flown within their designated flying areas, as shown on the attached flying site plan and at no time are to fly behind the flight line or over spectators or other field users.

Gliders can be free ranging but their pilots must consider other field users.

Courteous consideration must always be given to all other field users. Any member unsure of this rule should seek advice from a committee member.

3 A compulsory maximum noise level of 80db must be complied with at all times. All powered models must be checked before use and after any adjustments.

4 The pegboard ( Peg On) system must always be used if two or more pilots are on the field. Pegs are to be clearly marked with the pilots name and or frequency/colour.

5 Non certificated pilots must not fly solo but must be under the supervision of an 'A' certificate holder who has acquired a minimum of 6 month's subsequent experience.

6 Consideration must always be given to other field users.

7 There must be a minimum distance of 22 yards (approx20 metres) between the pits area and the flight line.

8 The flight line is to be established parallel to the pits line at the North end of the cricket pitch .

9 The peg board is to mark the position of the flight line and pilots are to stand in line with this mark.

10 Models shall be carried safely to and from the flight line. No Taxiing to or from the pits area.

11 The ASTRO TURF cricket pitch is entirely out of bounds.

12 Powered aircraft are restricted to a maximum engine size of 0.65 cu. ins. on either site

13 Both flying sites are now available for use although this is possibly more limited at Boldon due to other field users and the new housing development. Frequencies as shown on Appendix 1 and in the respective flight logs MUST be adhered to. Use of any frequency not permitted on the respective field will result in withdrawal of membership.

14 Rules regarding access to the Chuter Ede site are attached as Appendix 2, and must be complied with.

15 Further safety information is available in section 4 of the BMFA Handbook – Safety Code for General Flying.

The reputation and possible continuance of the club depends on every member strictly adhering

to the conditions of membership

IT'S YOUR CLUB – DON'T LET IT DOWN

APPENDIX 1.

Only the following frequencies can be used on Chuter Ede Field

2.4 GHz

72 and above on 35MHz

Only the following frequencies can be used on Boldon CA Field

2.4 GHz

Up to 70 on 35MHz

APPENDIX 2.

The following procedure is to be implemented with regard to the vehicular access to the Chuter Ede flying site:-

1 A lock has been purchased to replace the council lock on flying days only.

2 Each member will be issued with a key for this lock. This must be signed for and must be collected by the individual member.

3 The Club's lock and the council key will be kept in the flight box which will be kept at reception in the Boldon CA, as it has longer opening hours than Chuter Ede.

4 The first vehicle driver must collect the box from Boldon CA Reception and sign it out. On arrival at Chuter Ede, the council's lock on the field gate will be replaced with the Club's lock. The last person to leave the field must replace the Council's lock on the gate and return the flight box, together with the Club lock and Council key, to Boldon CA Reception. The box should then be signed back in. In the event that two different people sign it out and back, responsibility should be signed over to the returning member on the daily Flight Log. The gate must only be unlocked to allow access. At ALL other times it must remain locked.

5 All drivers who require access to the field must have their own key with them. Vehicles must not be taken on to the field unless Rule 4 can be fulfilled.

6 Keys are issued to Club members on an individual basis. You will be charged for replacement keys.

7 Vehicular access to the field without changing the lock is forbidden e.g. by use of the Council key only. This will necessitate the flight box being removed from Boldon CA for those times when the centre is to be closed e.g. bank holidays, Christmas and New Year holidays etc.

8 Disregard of ANY of the above rules will result in an automatic suspension of flying rights. The suspended member will be required to attend a Committee meeting in order to explain their actions.
