Click HERE for comments and picturesThe 2011 AGM was held on Saturday 19th.November. Quick summary - the weather was awful (mainly windy) though there were more flying sessions at Chuter Ede. Membership is constant but fees have increased due to increases in charges by the BMFA and Chuter Ede CA. There were two competitions held but attendance for these was very low.The next monthly meeting will be on Saturday 10th. The Concours event for the Ken Chapman trophy was held in the small gymnasium of the Boldon Community Centre on Sunday 20th. March. There was a disappointing turnout for the free flight hand launch glider competition for the Allen Campbell trophy, only three members took part, including the Competition Director himself! The weather for the event was very pleasant with plenty of sunshine and a barely perceptible breeze. The contest was judged on the longest of three flights.The contestants were Darren Edwards, flying a Skies the Limit Designs “Feather,” Steve Lough with another Skies the Limit Designs “Leaf “ and Brian Slater with a BMFA “Thermal Scout” (long in the tooth just like him).The results were:First Darren Edwardswith 16 seconds,Second Brian Slater with 15 secondsThird Steve Lough with 10 seconds.
