TRICK

Four Cards Across

Effect
Four Kings and four nines are mixed together three times but after each time are found not to be mixed. (Use any cards with your own variation of story if liked)
Set-up
Split two packs so that you have 4*Ks of the same colour and 4 *9s of the same colour
Method
Spread and show the four Ks in left hand and then the four 9s in your right hand. Explain that Ks and 9s hate each other and will not mix. Place both packs  on the table face down with  Kings on the left and 9s on the right. Take the top King in your left hand then cut two 9s with right hand. Place  the K on top of the two 9s on table and cover with one of the 9s in your right hand. This sets the 9s up for an Elmsley count.
Place the remaining 9 from right hand into the Ks pack by cutting the top King off with left hand and place the 9 on top of the two tabled kings.
Reiterate that the cards do not like mixing and do some magic gesture with hands then lift the Ks pack and
Elmesley count to apparently show four Ks. Put back on the table and do the same with the 9s pack. The spectator thinks the four Ks and four 9s are miraculously restored.
Explain that you moved one card the first time and now you will try it with two cards and repeat that they hate each other and will resist mixing. Take the top two cards and do a
Frustration count.
The top two cards of the K pack are picked up as one (actually 9 on top and then the K) and held along their short edges by middle finger and thumb in the right hand. We now need to convince the audience we have two Ks Twist the right wrist 180 degrees to show the bottom K, rotate back to show the back of the cards then thumb off the top card into your left hand and show the bottom card again (in your right hand) by twisting your right wrist through 180 degrees. Put K back on the 9 and then count the two cards back into your left hand to get the cards back to their original order i.e. 9 on top and then the K.
You have shown two Ks but are actually putting a K and a 9 on to the 9s pack. Repeat for the top two cards of the 9s pack, apparently showing two 9s  but putting a 9 and a K on the Ks pack
The cards are again in a position to Elmesley Count.
Elmesley count again to show the cards have not mixed as predicted. Now say that you are going to try again this time moving three cards.
Both packs are on the table. Pick up the Ks with left hand and 9s with right hand and twist both hands simultaneously to show which pack is which. (Only reveal the bottom card) Place both packs down again and take of both top cards simultaneously and place on table just above the main packs. Now pick up the three left hand Ks, fan to show and put on the single right hand card. Do the same with the three 9s on the right and place on the single left hand card.
You have apparently mixed three Ks with one 9 and visa versa but when revealed with a nor
