TopC

Twin Overhead Projector Control

An Application to control two overhead projectors from the serial COM ports of a Windows PC (95/98/Me/NT/2000/Xp). Typically used in a conference room, presentation, Church or other place of worship.

TopC has a minimal onscreen presence being typically only 111 pixels high (this number may vary depending on what size of fonts are selected on your computer).

Top C permits the operator to:

'Blank the screen' (on and off)

'Freeze the screen' (on and off)

'Power the projector' (on and off)

Switch the projector source between the 'RGB1, RGB2', 'Video' and 'S-Video' inputs

Each of these commands can be selected for the Left projector, the Right projector or Both Projectors at the same time.

In order to keep the on-screen presence as unobtrusive as possible, configuration of TopC is done by data file TopC.dat (edited as a text file).

This data file permits selection of which serial COM ports are used for Left and Right.

Purchase TopC here for only $10 (USD)

$10 is about £6 or €8

TopC is provided along with the data file and licence information in a zip file at ~12kb

Though it was written for a Hitachi CP-S235W projector, many projectors use the same protocol (though for some reason Mitsubishi Electric XL8U / XL5U and SL4SU do not). If in doubt check with your manual to be sure that the following technical specification is acceptable for your overhead image projector (or drop me an email and I will check, if your projector is not compatible I may do you a special version of TopC for you).

19200 baud

8 data bits, No Parity, 1 stop bit.

Typical message (Blank On): BE EF 03 06 00 6B D9 01 00 20 30 01 00

Special variants of TopC are available on request.
