HOME Birmingham International Airport

Birmingham International Airport is the 5th largest UK airport with 8 million passengers per year and serves an area of some 7 million people within a distance of a one-hour drive. Birmingham International Airport was opened in May 1939. During the second world war the airport was taken over by the military. After the war civil flights recomenced. The first jet airliner arrived in 1961 but regualar jet flights didn't start until 1966.
