AN IRISH INCURSION.
13 – 18 SEPTEMBER. "PRE NORTHERN IRELAND – TOUR OF SOUTHERN IRELAND".
You will have seen that the tour of Ireland is now four days (see below). As it seems a shame to go over there for just a few days I am putting together a "Pre Northern Ireland Tour, Tour of Southern Ireland".
I have it in my mind to go over on Saturday 13th September and stay three nights in the Killarney area. Whilst there to do the Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula and whatever else is worth having a look at. I would welcome any suggestions.
Then on Tuesday 16th September to move up country to Galway for two nights before joining the Northern Ireland Tour on Thursday 18th September at Carnlough.
All the bookings have been made, however if any member/s would like to join please give me a call as I am sure we could sort something out. We are staying for three nights in the first hotel at Killarney and then two nights in the second hotel outside Galway, before joining the Tour of Northern Ireland which runs from 18th to 21st September.

Looking forward to hearing from you (I think). Spike Parker.
18 - 21 SEPTEMBER 08 A NORTHERN IRELAND TOUR.
To run to follow Spike's tour and for those who may not wish to spend so long in the Emerald Isle, we have a long weekend based on the Antrim Coast at Carnlough. From here we will explore the Province including Malin Head, the Sperrins, Strandford Lough and wherever Brian Kelly considers good. Some of you will know some of the area but given the weather the Province provides some superb roads and scenery. There is a distillery too.
Brian has arranged accommodation at a traditional hotel – The Londonderry Arms – at a very acceptable rate and has provisionally reserved fifteen rooms at the Hotel for the nights 18- 21 September 08. The hotel is warm, friendly, historic and we have arranged some entertainment during our stay. More rooms may be available but we must be able to give some numbers very soon. The negotiated rates are: £145-00 pp for a three night stay inclusive of 2 Table d'Hote dinners and £180-00 pp for a four night stay inclusive of 2 Table d'Hote dinners. These variations have been made to allow for the time members may have available and to accommodate the timings of Spike's tour end. Other dinners may be taken in either the dining room or bistro and may be to own accounts. Members will make their booking directly with the hotel as usual and are advised to do so quickly. Ring 028 2888 5255 and ask for Maureen. Or email lda – that's ell, dee ay, lda@glensofantrim.com
