Rotary International
Tree of Light

With clubs around the world taking part in this Rotary experience
the money raised for local charities in local communities could total over
$ 100,000,000

The Rotary Tree of Light programme was launched in 1996 by Rtn. Paul Firman of the Rotary Club of Shawberry in District 1210 and Rtn. John Hughes of the Rotary Club of Alcester in District 1060 and is why we use the 1996 theme of "Build the Future with Action and Vision"

Since this programme was launched the response from Rotary Clubs around the world has been so great that communities have raised Millions of Dollars. The sums raised are increasing year on year and has already far outreached our target, to raise $10,000,000 by the centenary of the Rotary movement in 2005. The trees in the UK alone were estimated to have raised over £10,000,000 by 2004
